Distance: 43,6 km; total positive slope: 3.000 m.

Cavalls del Vent is one of the indispensable routes for those who love mountains and hiking in Catalunya. This 84,2 km long route traverses the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park and is a circular one, starting and finishing in the same mountain hut. Thus, it can be done in both ways.

On this occasion, we’ll go on the Western part of the trail, walking 43,6 km with 3.000 m of total positive slope. Would you like to do the Western part of Cavalls del Vent with us? If you do, you can join one of our guided tours.

Arrival to the Lluís Estasen Shelter by your own means. Meeting with the guide and the rest of the group, and route briefing.

Stage 1: Lluís Estasen Shelter - Sant Jordi Shelter (6 h.)

Breakfast. This stage will take us to the Sant Jordi shelter passing through the Gresolet beech forest, Sant Martí del Puig, Cal Cerdanyola and Empedrats. Arrival at the shelter, dinner and accomodation.

Stage 2: Sant Jordi Shelter / Lluís Estasen Shelter (7 h.)

Breakfast at the mountain hut. We will be leaving early in order to face this last stage, which will take us through wonderful hideouts and that will show us a spectacular landscape at the end. First, we will head for the Coll de Pendís mountain pass, facing quite a climb. Then, we will pass through the Prat de les Estelles meadow, Vimboca and the Pas dels Bous mountain pass (2.253 m) and finally arrive to the Prat d'Aguiló mountain refuge. After a break, we'll face the last stretch climbing to the Pas dels Gosolans mountain pass and then descending to the Lluís Estasen Shelter. End of journey!
