Day 1: 04 - Sant Marc vertical km

Itinerary review:

The Sant Marc vertical KM has a distance of 6.3 km with a 866 m positive slope, 15% average inclination and a maximum slope of 54%. It is a short but explosive ascent, particularly in the last 3 km. The starting point is in Plaça de l'Església nº1 (the outing point of all tracks starting in Guardiola de Berguedà) and its end is in Sant Marc de Brocà at 1.611 m altitude.

The first km runs on a paved road, since we cross the town heading North. After that first km, we'll take a dirt road that will be close to us during the whole route. The first 3 km ascent are not too difficult. In this distance, we'll gain a little over 150 m altitude and the maximum slope is of 22% in some isolated stretches. It's in the last 3 km of ascent where the trail becomes more demanding. In a little over 3 km we'll gain 600 m with maximum slopes reaching 54%. These very pronounced slopes are the nes that will take us to the summit of Sant Marc de Brocà, at an altitude of 1.611 m.

Observations:
The first km of the route is on urban soil. The rest of it follows small trails and paths, we'll only cross the dirt road in some exceptional ocasions. The route is not circular.

Highlights:
Formerly, Brocà used to be an important site which included a part of Guardiola de Berguedà and Gréixer, among other areas. Sant Martí de Brocà is a plain Romanesque church with a single transept, but a beautiful apse decorated with Lombard style blind arcuations. A few years ago, it was restored by the Diputació de Barcelona institution. The entry door, located in the lateral wall, is not the original one; it was made much later and is of neoclassical fashion, strongly contrasting with the rest of the building.

Day 2: 05 - Sobrepuny vertical km

This is an explosive itinerary with more than 800 m of positive slope in less than 4 km to reach the Sobrepuny peak, in the middle of the Catllaràs mountain chain, and in the municipality of La Nou de Berguedà. The Sobrepuny summit, at 1.610 m of altitude, is one of the most emblematic and spectacular lookouts of Berguedà.

To take into account:
The itinerary is not circular. The descent will follow the same trail as the ascent.
