What is Cavalls del Vent?
Cavalls del Vent, which translates to “Horses of the Wind”, is one of Catalonia’s most celebrated long-distance hiking routes. Winding through the heart of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, the trail connects eight mountain huts in a loop that immerses you in wild, dramatic landscapes—from pine forests and alpine meadows to steep ridgelines with breathtaking views.
This circular trail can be done in either direction and is designed for fit hikers who enjoy long days in the mountains. With proper support, it becomes more than a physical challenge: it’s a deep connection with nature and the Catalan Pyrenees.
Our 5-Stage Guided Experience
We offer a 5-day version of the Cavalls del Vent that’s expertly paced to allow for both physical exertion and time to appreciate the scenery. Each stage ranges from 15 to 20 km, with elevation gains of up to 1,200 meters, so you’ll be tested—but also rewarded.

Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park: A Hidden Gem
The Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park is one of Catalonia’s largest protected areas, but it remains surprisingly off the beaten track. Home to a rich diversity of wildlife—including marmots, vultures, and the elusive chamois—the park is a haven for biodiversity and mountain solitude.
Each day of the Cavalls del Vent route offers different terrain, views, and challenges, from lush forest paths to high alpine passes. You’ll sleep in welcoming mountain refuges, refuel with hearty meals, and wake up to sunrises over the Pyrenees.
