Stage 1 Montserrat - Mas de la Sala

45 km | 682 m positiive slope | 1.300 m negative slope
Outing from the Montserrat Monastery descending by the paved road to Santa Cecília de Montserrat. Then, we continue on a dirt road following a stretch of the GR 4 until we get to Castellgalí. Therefrom, we will follow different country roads to arrive in Manresa and, then, ascend to Mare de Déu de la Salut. We follow the trail to Les Brucardes, Navarcles and, finally, we arrive in Artés by a dirt road.

Stage 2 Mas de la Sala - Vic

51 Km | 938m m positive slope | 997 m negative slope
We leave Artés to start ascending through a wooded area to L'Estany. We will descend a little to, then, face a short climb that will take us to the highest point of the route, at the 27th kilometre. Therefrom, we will start descending to our destination, Vic, passing throught the town of Santa Eulàlia de Riuprimer to arrive then to Plaça Major de Vic (the main square of Vic), one of the attractives of Osona's capital.

Stage 3 Vic - Rupit

44 Km | 883 m positive slope | 968m negative slope
We leave the Plaça Major de Vic through the Old Town to take a bike path leading to a boulevard that will take us to Calldetenes. Therefrom, we take the Mill Route (Ruta dels Molins), a lovely path that leads us to the town of Julià de Vilatorta and, then, we follow dirt roads to Folgueroles and Tavèrnoles. At this point, we take the little-traveled BV-5213 road, which takes us to the Sau National Parador. Should we take a short detour, we could visit the Sant Pere de Casserres Monastery (recommended visit). Next, we'll skirt the Sau Rreservoir by a paved road which brings us to cross the Sau dam and ascend by another paved road with some demanding slopes to Rupit.

Stage 4 Rupit - Torelló

42 Km | 1.084 m positive slope | 1.150 m negative slope
We leave Rupit through country roads and small paths that takes us to a paved road which skirts the crags of L'Avenc, all along to Tavertet. Therefrom, we follow a dirt road to Cantonigròs. Then, we cycle for 2 km on a descending road to find a country road which skirts the town of Cabrera and passes through Sant Julià de Cabrera. Finally, we descend to Sant Vicenç de Torelló by a dirt road, and then we take a lovely trail to arrive in Torelló.

Stage 5 Torelló - Camprodon

56 Km | 959 m positive slope | 1.040 m negative slope
We leave Torelló by country roads and some little paths on which we'll have to get off the bike for 50 m to make it to St. Quirze de Besora. Next, we'll arrive in the Montesquiu Castle Park and follow a country road and a narrow trail which leaves us right in the middle of the old industrial colony of La Farga de Bebié. It is abandoned nowadays, and traversing it is very interesting. We leave the colony by a dirt road that becomes a small path which crosses over the C-17 highroad and then continues to Ripoll. Therefrom, we follow the greenway to Sant Joan de les Abadesses, and then go on towards Camprodon by country roads.

Stage 6 Camprodon - Les Basses de Puigsec

21 Km | 1.620 m positive slope | 1.179 m negative slope
This one is the shortest stage, regarding the distance, yet me must take into account that we have to return by road to our car, at the starting point. This stage is physically demanding, since we are in Pyrenean lands. It starts in Camprodon by a country road and then combines small trails to Molló, then to Espinavell, to end the route in Les Basses de Puigsec, in the Natural Park of the Ter and Freser Headwaters.
