Stage 3 Vic - Rupit
Stage 3 Vic - Rupit

44 Km | 883 m positive slope | 968m negative slope We leave the Plaça Major de Vic through the Old Town to take a bike path leading to a boulevard that will take us to Calldetenes. Therefrom, we take the Mill Route (Ruta dels Molins), a lovely path that leads us to the town of Julià de Vilatorta and, then, we follow dirt roads to Folgueroles and Tavèrnoles. At this point, we take the little-traveled BV-5213 road, which takes us to the Sau National Parador. Should we take a short detour, we could visit the Sant Pere de Casserres Monastery (recommended visit). Next, we'll skirt the Sau Rreservoir by a paved road which brings us to cross the Sau dam and ascend by another paved road with some demanding slopes to Rupit.

Next, we'll arrive in the Montesquiu Castle Park and follow a country road and a narrow trail which leaves us right in the middle of the old industrial colony of La Farga de Bebié. It is abandoned nowadays, and traversing it is very interesting. We leave the colony by a dirt road that becomes a small path which crosses over the C-17 highroad and then continues to Ripoll. Therefrom, we follow the greenway to Sant Joan de les Abadesses, and then go on towards Camprodon by country roads.
